Contemplating giving up, a portal open in her cell one day.

Jax is gone and Pomni is left to grieve and decide if she kept going and fight Ribbit or give up. But there is a new addition to the issue.

“Caine… this isn't right”
She is so sure, tone gentle but leaving no room for argument. It does nothing to stop him though as he sits here, body glitching and jolting from the mere struggle of it all. Caine knows that he has made so many mistakes with the humans but… he sees it in the way Pomni watches the tent, when she thinks no one is looking. The sadness that lingers there.
At least, that's what he thinks. He isn't sure, not really. Not when it comes to emotions. He thought he knew… and perhaps now… maybe he does, if he can think and feel this way, maybe he can see the way it hurts them. The absence of all those from before. Their most recent loss…

As Pomni spends more time in the circus, her bonds with the others grow stronger. Everyone longs for connection, one way or another. But one thing that has not changed is Pomni's strong dislike for being touched. She won't ever voice it out loud, but everyone has known her long enough now to know it's definitely not at the top of her most-enjoyed things. Yet, Jax will still push it. Why? Because he himself hates touch as much as getting close enough to where people can see him for who he truly is. And it f[%$!#]s with him so badly to the point he's starting to doubt everything around him. A panic attack here and there isn't abnormal from him, in the privacy of his own room, of course. But, now they're occurring every night, and almost right in front of everyone. Jax has never felt this close to insanity, and it's scary to think that one more will be enough to push him to a place he cannot return.
