Summary
I'll start with stating that Catelyn and Ned are my favourite couple in GOT and ASoIaF! But...
What if Cersei had been married to someone else? Someone less abusive, less cheating, less drunk? What if Jaime wasn’t wriggling right before her all the time, tempting her to pretend to be a Targaryen? What if she had married someone kind, honourable, and compassionate? Would she still be driven to be a mad woman who believed that maids were stitching her clothes smaller and that Tyrion lived in the walls? And, in Westeros, Ned is a good husbands in comparison to the rest of the men in the story, so I matched them.
How will Cersei’s life unfold when she is married to a sullen Northern lord? Will she find the crown she dreamt of as a girl who was promised to wed a prince? Will the prophecy given by an old and mad witch in the woods come true? Or maybe, just maybe, Cersei will find a sliver of happiness, without the crown. Maybe she will not need to fear for her children’s lives.

Alicent Hightower is a young girl dreaming of becoming more than she is. She starts as a maid to an old king and ends up as the queen. She wants power and recognition. This is a story about Alicent caring for Rhaenyra a little more, and how it shapes their relationship and the future of the Realm. I often find people wondering that if Rhaenyra had been a ‘better sister’, the Dance of the Dragons would never have happened, but how can she be a ‘better sister’ when all Alicent did was teach her children that Rhaenyra stole their birthright? So, what if Alicent had been a better, more loving, more guiding mother to Rhaenyra, instead of competing with her for recognition? Would that have changed the shape of their futures?- Language:

But even with the dreams, there is a lot of players on the move.

Summary
Yet another time travel fix-it but with a twist. Thanks to @The_Sithspawn (The Raven's Plan) for the inspiration and @Priestess_of_Groove (The Dragon's Roar) as well. I wanted to go with something a bit different than starting at the beginning and wanted to aim for angst with some tension. This starts roughly, very roughly, after Season 2 (Clash of Kings) and start of Season 3 (A Storm of Swords), I've taken some liberties with timing mostly because, well why not. This is also a mix of book and show, trying to bring in some more of the greyness of the Book characters with the plot points we all know. I've been holding on to the start of this for after the premier.
