Summary
Nearly 30 years ago, the Golden Man appeared over the Atlantic Ocean. That day, the world was changed forever. However, his golden skin wasn’t the only odd thing people noticed about his appearance.
The Golden Man’s eyes were inverted: pitch-black sclera, white pupil, golden iris. It wasn’t long before more and more reports of people with similarly inverted eyes and strange abilities began to emerge. Those eyes became a physical symbol—the mark of a triggered parahuman.
OR
What if parahumans in Worm couldn’t hide behind a mask? Once a person triggers, the color of their eyes instantly inverts, leaving an unmistakable physical mark of their new empowered status. This leads to a much more open parahuman society where the usual theatrics of heroes versus villains isn’t really a thing.
For some, this leads to feelings of being ostracized. For others, it creates a feeling of superiority. For Taylor, the idea of being a hero never crosses her mind. As a parahuman, she is far less idealistic, and her power adjusts accordingly.

The team fails to stop Hive from launching the warhead. As a result, the entire human populations of Europe and North America are turned into Primitives while the rest of the world watches in horror. S.H.I.E.L.D. falls within hours. However, in the rush to evacuate the Playground before Hive’s followers could find them, one agent is left behind.
Still recovering from the effects of Hive’s sway, Daisy is forced to fend for herself. With half of the world turned into monsters and the other half now enslaved, it seems like all hope is lost.
The thing is, Daisy never learned when to give up.

Summary
Daisy struggled against Talbot’s grip. Her body was being consumed. Her powers were being absorbed. Soon, everything would come to an end.

Summary
Taylor triggers earlier than in canon, with the thinker power to...understand any language.
Of course, this being Taylor, she immediately heads out and gets herself into a whole lot of trouble. Does she have a plan? Yes, but it's not always a good one.
This is a fic about pushing a 'weak' power to its absolute limits. It's also a fic about Taylor biting off way more than she can chew and then chewing anyway, consequences be damned. She might not be able to beat an average guy in a fistfight, but boy can she be a pain in the neck for anyone dumb enough to think that means they can take her on.

In her panic to protect her father, Taylor may have made an ill-advised decision, suffocating Butcher XIV. Now that she's become the new Butcher, Taylor took a careful look at her options before deciding that the only reasonable decision would be to join the Brockton Bay Wards. Surely this plan has absolutely no problems.
