AKA - Xena and Gabrielles love story, but make it Argo's POV:
“Turning her head to meet Xena’s eye, Argo glares at the warrior princess before turning back to the stream.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Xena says sharply.
Argo knew Xena knew exactly what that meant.
This pipsqueak was distracting Xena and slowing them down. Worse even, Argo had seen the way Xena rolls her eyes at Gabrielle in that exaggerated way she only did when she actually wanted a human to stick around.
Having been down this road before with Xena and women, Argo knew it never ended well.”

It hadn’t bothered her much at first, but as those children grew, visual representations of the passage of time, Waverly’s heart began to sink under the sand of her own hourglass.
