Summary
After some morning sex and a fainting scare, Lucanis has some news for Demitrix (Rook). The Antivan Crow leaders, The Talons, want to meet Demitrix during a weekend in a lake house. Once there, He will face a series of trials in order to become Lucanis's future spouse called the Trial of Talons. It is during these trials that Demitrix's past catches up to him, and now he must face not only the deadliest leaders of the worlds most renowned assassins guild, but battle his own psyche. Will Demitrix pass the trials in order to earn Lucanis's hand in marriage? Or will tragedy strike House Dellamorte again?

Long before the Ossuary, Lucanis knew that love was a luxury a man like him could never afford. Rook can’t resist teasing the broody assassin, until a certain pantry lean makes it painfully clear that she’s fallen for him, hard.
It is an often humorous and occasionally angsty story of two idiots falling in love. Throw in some misunderstanding, jealousy, endless self-doubt, and plenty of awkward boners. Plus back story and extra trauma for Lucanis, because we want to see our babygirl heal. Of course, Spite is a gremlin and Rook's biggest fan!
Follows the in-game events with loads of extra interactions and adventures. Minor canon divergences.

The silence between them wasn’t entirely empty; his presence pressed against it, steady and insistent.
“You’ve been distant these past weeks,” he said finally, his voice even, though something gentler bled through. He’d told himself the weekly reports were enough, that the crystal calls bridged the gap between them. And in the beginning, they had - her voice had carried warmth, the conversation occasionally straying to details that had nothing to do with her targets. But lately, all he heard from her was the hunt: nothing of her.
