Suguru’s smile deepens. “No.”
Suguru Geto defects from jujutsu society in 2007, after killing one hundred and twelve non-sorcerers in a remote village in northern Japan.
He returns in 2016, a suitcase in one hand and two thirteen year old girls hanging onto the other.

Shoko sounds just as appalled as Satoru feels, and he makes a dramatic noise as he buries his face in the pillow she’d served back to him.
“Yes,” he pouts, sniffling. “Yes, I am.”
“Dude.” She shoves him with a foot, knocking the pillow out of his hands. “It’s just one guy.”
Offended, Satoru gapes at her. “He is not just some guy!” he protests.
“He’s not?”
“No! He's my - he’s my Cinderella!” Satoru wails.
Satoru Gojo thinks there's something familiar about the guy who's started giving him free coffee every time he comes into the shop. He just - can't figure out what it is.

Summary
Suguru clears his throat, puts down his notes, and explains, “Satoru doesn’t date.”
And that stings a little. It hurts. Because it means that Suguru’s noticed he’s never really gone out with anyone before, that he’s very much aware of Satoru’s lack of experience here. He’s noticed and done nothing about it, which -
“Well, gotta start some time, yeah?” Satoru jokes, covering up his discomfort with a laugh he hopes doesn’t sound too fake. “Better late than never.”
Shoko laughs, waving a hand at him as she goes back to her textbook - which is more or less what Satoru expects, very much used to her casual indifference to his antics at this point in their continued association.
What he doesn’t expect is the way that Suguru freezes; he is entirely unprepared for the way that Suguru goes very, very still, those warm brown eyes that Satoru loves so much going dark with what he thinks is dismay.
“Are you… are you serious?” he asks, his voice small. “You have a date?”
Satoru blinks. “Um, yeah.”
“With who?”
Satoru makes an assumption about Suguru and Shoko's relationship. Things get very messy, very fast.

“I’m ring shopping,” Suguru says slowly, and for a moment, Satoru’s breath stutters. Surely, he wasn’t…? “Ring shopping,” Suguru repeats before Satoru’s thoughts can wander that tantalizing path, “for Shoko and Utahime.”
“For Shoko and Utahime,” Satoru repeats blankly after a pause. Suguru nods once. “You’re buying their rings?”
Suguru has the dignity to look a little abashed. “It’s unorthodox, I know,” he admits, “but they asked, and I couldn’t refuse, right?”
“Right,” Satoru repeats blandly. “Well, that…” His own eyes dart to the case of rings beside them. “That makes sense, I guess.”
“Don’t—don’t tell them about it, though,” Suguru blurts out, just as Satoru begins trying to think of an excuse to leave before he can embarrass himself. It takes a bit for the words to register, and when they do, Satoru blinks in confusion.
“Don’t… tell them about their own… wedding rings?”
“Yes,” Suguru says emphatically. “It’s… it’s meant to be a surprise, you know?”
“A surprise,” Satoru says wearily. “Yeah, I think I know.”

“I don’t think I can do this,” Suguru blurts into the phone.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Shoko’s voice crackles against his ear. “You’ve been planning this for months. Literal months. You’ve wanted this since, like, forever. You’re doing this.”
Suguru doesn’t answer right away. He presses his eyes shut, mouth tight. The pressure in his chest hasn’t let up.
“Shoko,” he says finally. “He saw the ring.”
“So what?” she argues. “That ruins the surprise, sure. But it doesn’t ruin you proposing.”
“No, that’s not it.” His shoulders sink. “Ever since I think he saw it, he’s been all—” He lifts his hand, gesturing vaguely, helplessly. “Quiet.”
And that is an issue. Because Satoru is never quiet. Not like this.
Or, Suguru just wants to propose to Satoru. What can go wrong?

People liked to imagine guardian angels as radiant, noble beings with golden halos, honey-sweet voices, and wings so big they could block out the sun. Unfortunately for Suguru, his came with a sharp tongue, a bad attitude, and the kind of advice that sounded like it belonged in underground fight clubs rather than a prayer.
Suguru’s first thought when he saw him was that angels weren’t supposed to slump in midair like they were bored out of their minds.
His second was that this one had sunglasses on. At night. Indoors.
Geto Suguru’s guardian angel is a menace with fluffy wings, sunglasses, and a habit of making life suspiciously easier. Gojo Satoru helps him deal with the world, using more or less ethical methods.
Somewhere between questionable divine assistance and daily bickering, they fall in love, obviously. Like it was always meant to happen.

Whatever protest he tries to voice comes out muffled behind his closed mouth.
