Summary
Five years without any contact was a long time. The distance had built new walls on top of old wounds. They were still best friends, maybe, but did they really know each other anymore? In an ideal situation, they'd spend some time alone, maybe go on a few small adventures. Take it slow. Rediscover what drew them to each other in the first place.
But Killua had officially decided that the situation was not ideal. In fact, it was so much the opposite that he was going to have an enormous hickey on the inside of his elbow.
Because instead of taking things slow, they were pretending to make out in a closet.

“You mock me and insult me and jerk me around like some errand boy and act all high and mighty like you're the only one in the room with a brain and sometimes I just wanna fucking throttle you.”
Theo's eyes light up in an answering blaze of heat. “Do it,” he mutters around Liam's iron grip around his neck. He makes a show of the struggle, feigns scrabbling at Liam's arm. “What are you waiting for, Dumbar? Fucking kill me, then!”
Liam shocks him when his grip doesn't gentle, but he says, “I don't think so. I think I've got a better idea,” and squeezes his fingers round Theo's neck and lunges forward to smash their mouths together.

Summary
Nothing in the world, not even the Berserkers or the Ghost Riders or last semester's linguistics midterm grade, could have ever prepared Liam for the stomach-dropping sight of Theo splayed out on his back across the pool table with the top button of his shirt undone and his legs spread around the triangular formation of empty red Solo cups at his crotch. The tall guy from before has rounded up a bunch of his buddies and they're all roaring and cheering, taking turns having their shot at jumping the cue ball over Theo's entire torso into one of the farthest cups at the end of the table.
Theo's head has lolled back and his face is loose, glowing, painted with an easy grin, and Liam doesn't think he's ever seen the chimera this unwound before.
Or this level of infuriating, either, for that matter.
(The way his jeans suddenly tighten has absolutely nothing to do with this train of thought.)

Twisted by the effects of dragon sickness, Thorin banishes not only Bilbo but the entire company from Erebor. Days pass with no word from their missing leader and, fearing the effects the gold may have on the other dwarves, Bilbo decides to enter the mountain alone in search of Thorin.
