“What the fuck are you doing here?” Eddie demands, pointing a finger at Buck as the rusted out bell is rung to begin the fight.
Neither of them move closer, but Buck shrugs and holds his arms out by his side. “Figured you might actually want to take your anger out on the right guy for once.” He gestures towards himself. “So c’mon. Take a swing.”

Buck gives Eddie a chance to throw a punch at the right guy in the aftermath of the lawsuit. It goes better than expected.

Summary
Buck nods against his pillow, remaining silent before Eddie whispers, “Do I have to be worried about you?”
“No.” Buck mumbles. “I’ll be back at work on Thursday. I just needed a day.”
“Do you promise?” Eddie says, and Buck knows he’s not referring to his comment about work.
“Promise.” You don’t have to be worried about me.
OR
Buck never really dealt with his issues after the tsunami and the team never really asked so here he is, two years later - the pier's reopening, a victim shows up and thanks Buck, plus the city wants to give him an award for not dying out of pure luck. So, yeah. Buck's not doing well, everyone knows and Eddie's unsure which lines he should be crossing now that he and Buck are in some weird, middle stage of knowing that they will be together, but aren't yet due to personal reasons (like figuring their own relationship trauma out so they're not shitty partners).
