Se podía decir que Marta había cumplido su sueño. Había fundado su propia editorial e, incluso, se había convertido en una escritora reconocida, a pesar de la inicial reticencia de su padre.
Su vida personal, por otro lado, estaba bastante lejos de ser la soñada. Casada con un hombre al que no amaba y a quien veía unos escasos días al año, Marta se sentía hundida en la monotonía y en la soledad. A modo de escape, comenzó a escribir su último libro, de gran éxito entre los lectores, donde la protagonista vivía ese amor profundo y libre con el que ella solo podía soñar.
