Summary
Jonathan had chosen to join Dio in the library because he really did need to focus on his schoolwork more, but there were some less studious reasons as well.
Passing by, he'd seen Dio through the open door of the library. Light from the windows struck him and highlighted the intense concentration on his face as he worked, every line in his face sharper and his hair more golden than ever.
The breath had caught in Jonathan's chest at how handsome Dio was, not for the first time. So he'd dragged out all the papers and notes needing his attention to the library. It was an easy excuse to be near Dio and feel the confusing, joyful flutter inside him beat all the stronger for it.

Dio rests an arm over the back of Jonathan's chair, leaning in as close as he can without their noses touching.
"Jojo?" he says softly, forcing eye contact by staring at Jonathan too deeply. "I know."

Summary
Jonathan is jolted out of an idyllic afterlife by the arrival of his grandson, who bears dire news of Dio’s imminent victory on Earth. It would seem that the chains of fate that bind their two souls will give neither rest until they are united, and so Jonathan sets out on a mission to save Dio’s soul and bring them together at last. But Dio has his own plans and he will not be so easily persuaded.
