Summary
Hawks prided himself in his ability to read people, to practically guess what they were thinking in record time. But Dabi, he was something else. He kept everything hidden away behind a thick layer of smoke not even Hawks’ keen eyes could see through. From his true identity to his end goal, all of it was kept away from the hero, like he wasn’t deserving of that information. Not now and maybe not ever.
But even the best of magicians sometimes let the trick slip, and Dabi was no different. Under any normal condition, he was unbreakable, if only maybe a bit short fused and easy to annoy.
Except when they’d end up like this, and suddenly it was like Dabi needed to let something slip.

Even now, after all that happened to them, her everlasting smile stays put, looking brighter than ever as she wrestles with Minho in the sand, Thomas cheering them on from the sides while Gally just shakes his head and laughs at them both. Sonya manages to get the upperhand, twisting and pinning Minho to ground as she let’s out a victorious laugh. Harriet can’t help the quiet chuckle that escapes her as she watches from where she sits, far enough that she doesn’t get in the way of the tussling, but still close enough that Sonya spots her and sends her a cheery wave.
OR
Harriet gets the wrong idea about what's going on between Sonya and Thomas. Everything goes well in the end.

“But you have,” Buck counters. “You used to be the one who talked sense into me. You were the guy who made me think twice. But since you got back from Texas, you’re the one being stupid and reckless. Running into fires against orders, diving off fifty foot bridges--”
“You know, you’re such a hypocrite,” Eddie steps forward, jabbing an accusatory finger into Buck’s chest. “You would have done exactly the same thing if I hadn’t done it first.”
OR: Buck confronts Eddie about his recent recklesness.

“How’d it go?” Buck asks as they reach the Jeep. He jams his thumb into the button on the fob — has to really dig his nail in to get it to work, it’s so worn down— and the locks click open.
“Good,” Eddie answers, sliding into the passenger seat. He runs his tongue over his left molars. Practices his bite. Bares his teeth at Buck in the kind of smile a seven year old Christopher used to flash all the time. “Easy. It was just a filling.”
“No pain then?” Buck asks and the engine purrs to life. He switches the gear to reverse.
“Nope, they numbed me up good. Still feels weird, though,” Eddie says, touching his fingertips to the left side of his upper lip. He prods at it carefully, barely feels it. “Kind of heavy. Like it’s on a lag or something.” He chuckles even though it kind of sucks. “Don’t know how I’m supposed to kiss anyone with only half a working mouth.”
Buck laughs. Puts the car into drive and pulls towards the main road. “Who’re you supposed to be kissing anyway?”
Without thinking, Eddie replies, “You, I hope.” Then freezes.
