Adora and Catra were placed in different homes once they finally got free from Hordak's abusive household. Adora now lives with Glimmer and Angella and has formed a close circle of friends, whose book club and princess roleplay group she joined. Catra, on the other hand, lives life on Shadow Weaver's tight leash. Throughout high school they stayed friends despite Shadow Weaver's best efforts. Now that they are both adults, nearly out of high school, Shadow Weaver is finally allowing Catra to join Adora's book club. For the first time in a long time they are meeting outside of school. Jax furrows her brow, eyes trained on her untouched glass of whiskey, refusing to meet her ex girlfriend's two toned eyes. "What kind of fucking question is that?" She finally asks, reaching out and picking up her glass—it makes it halfway to her lips before she changes her mind, setting it back on the table.
Pomni hums to herself and Jax chances a look, finding her staring off to her left, watching the other bar patrons. In hindsight, maybe it wasn't the best idea to meet at a bar, specifically this one.
