Summary
In the fragile aftermath of the Senju-Uchiha peace treaty, Uchiha Hikaku carves out a quiet, repetitive life where he wakes up, visits Izuna, works with Madara, then goes home. Gone are the days of bloodshed and sleepless nights. He doesn't do much in his day to day life, but his hands shake less with each passing day.
There are not many betas in the Senju clan. It's not like they're elusive, just uncommon and independent in a way that other sub-genders are not. And that's why Tobirama takes a liking to the Uchiha beta. It does not go beyond a simple, scientific curiosity that will disappear once he's finished with his research.
(His teeth ache whenever he catches sight of the beta's unmarked neck. It's ignorable now, but Tobiama has always had a possessive streak.)

Summary
Everyone has limits. The Uchiha are very careful not to reach it, and Izuna is no exception. He did not fracture in his first life.
He does it in the second.Or, how Hashirama and Madara wanted to fix everything with time travel, but they only managed to break their little brothers.

When Madara is rescued from bandits by Tobirama - what was Izuna thinking - the last thing he's expecting is to be treated with respect.

What Tobirama says next chills him to the bone.
"I have one of your clansmen," he says lowly. "He's got quite the tale to tell you."
Izuna doesn't know what to make of a clansman from the future who, despite everything, still wants them to build the village.
Itachi has sacrificed a lot. He feels entitled to a bit of a reward.
