Summary

Now, years later, she’s drawn back into his orbit when strange murders hit London. Bodies found drained, eyes missing, whispers of vampires walking the city. Lamb knows what’s hunting them. He also knows he needs Catherine, her purity of power, to bind the monster in the shadows. On Halloween night, with werewolves prowling alleyways and witches dancing on rooftops, Catherine will have to decide whether to let Lamb drag her back into his abyss… or to bind herself to him forever.

I split this up into the Early Years, the Middle Years and Current Years. Each "era" has a vignette for each season - and builds on the past, creating a path for romance along the way. Or at the office, when he plotted how to escape from behind his desk to restore his glory? It wouldn’t all be for him, in the end. It would be to make them all proud, especially her; all her chivvying and patience paying off and culminating in his return to the Park. She knew he never belonged at Slough House, surely she knew.

It’s not like the things she writes about.
In her novels, the men are silent. Rutting and eager but quiet; they use their mouths to bed the heroines in her book, but by the time they fall into bed - or onto desks, or into too tight coat closets and clawfoot bathtubs - they are silent. They growl and grunt and gasp and roar, but for the most part, the men Lizzie writes about are the strong, silent type.
Freddie is not.
