    Summary

Link already had had the experiences of two adventures so technically he should have known better. But he didn't. And why? Because he had been stupid. Mentally berating himself, he would have crossed his arms and leaned back if he still had arms and a movable body which both he currently did not possess.

Or wherein Four was actually five.

    Summary

Something about Wind—that he tries not to think about very often—is that his hands aren’t very… gentle.

They used to be. For his little sister when he would brush her hair and sing to her before bed, or for his grandma when he would help her with dinner, kneading fluffy dough and swiping at bites of veggies before she could add them into whatever soup she was making that night.

Now, they’ve been torn down and built up so many times that he can barely see past the scar tissue. Hard work and rope burns and a sword through the head of the worst enemy Hyrule has ever known have forced his hands to adapt.

    - - -

Wind doesn’t have the Hero’s Spirit. This changes everything, and nothing at all.

(Or, three times Legend doesn’t ask about the scars on Wind’s hands, and one time he does.)

    Summary

Link and Zelda are not twins.

This is important to remember, considering everything else about them. They are, in fact, siblings. The do share a mother, a royal heritage, and a nose.

They have the same morbid sense of humor, and—though no one will ever believe Link for saying it—the same filthy mouth.

Yes, they are siblings. But they aren't twins, least of all identical twins, lest either the King or Link's uncle lied about one of their birthdays by a factor of years. Not a lot of years, but still. The point stands, they are not identical. Or even slightly identical. They barely share more than a passing resemblance to one another.

    And yet…

    Summary

Hyrule rolled Sky’s body onto its back and shook its shoulder. “Sky. Look at me.” He tilted its head back and hovered his hand over its mouth and nose. “Come on. You need to breathe.” He curled his fingers across the underside of its wrist. “Please, you can’t do this.”

“I’m not,” Sky said. “I’m right here, Traveler.”

Or: Sky becomes a ghost, Fi is reluctantly awake, and the Links go on yet another quest to save the world.
