Summary
“What’s with the kid?” Jack demands, leaning his back against the station as he folds his arms, his brows furrowed in confusion.
”He’s missin’ Robby.” Dana huffs, “fuckin’ obsessed, that kid is.”
Jack feels that fury spike hot in his chest, his mind filling with that all too familiar anger again.
Ten years of loving Robby in silence. Ten years of watching him fall apart and stitching him back up together again. Ten years of wanting and never saying anything.
And now he’s gone, and Whitaker thinks he can mope about it?

Summary
There is something wrong with Dennis Whitaker.
It was subtle to start with. Small things that Robby started noticing the first week of his rotation.
But today, it wasn’t small. It wasn’t nothing. This was different. Dennis came in looking seriously unwell. Sweat was already travelling down his pale forehead. His walk unsteady and his words slurring.

Summary
Slowly over the coming weeks, Dennis healed. It wasn’t linear, he had setbacks several times. His body was still weak, not fully his own yet, but he was close. Jack and Robby couldn’t have been more proud.
It had become normal, for Dennis to sleep in their bed, curled up between the two married attendings, their arms curled around him, gentle pressure that kept him grounded. And wake up to them stroking soft hands up and down his arms, mumbling sweet words of praise in his ear.
They hadn’t spoken about the shift in their dynamic, each of them too scared to put a name to whatever this had become. but they all leaned futher and futher into it.
OR: Jack and robby look after Dennis after his hospitalisation and become… something a little bit more than his bosses.

Summary
Dennis was on the floor, curled in on himself, blood dripping down his skinny wrists, darkening his sleeves fast. The mismatched marble tiles that lined their floor already pooling with crimson red.
”Oh God… Dennis”
Jack dropped to his knees beside the boy, his lip trembling as he panicked.
“Robby grab me a fucking towel or something- Fuck!” His hands shook as he clawed at Dennis trying to stop the bleeding.

‘Calliope been a lot?’ He followed up, his voice gentle as he calmly slid his hands down to rest on his partners hips. Robby’s immediate huff of discontent aided in proving his hunch right. Accompanied by an eye roll which would put teenagers to shame.
‘We had a meltdown last night, ending at around 3am’ Robby sighed. ‘This morning was complete with a full rendition of the Hamilton soundtrack in order to “set up the day with efficiency”- her words, not mine’.
Jack let out a breathy laugh, ‘Oh brother’ a smile tugging at his lips.

Summary
When a twelve year old child is brought into the Pitt beaten within an inch of her life, it becomes a desperate attempt to locate the parents of the child, only to learn from the child that he’s in fact a trans child who goes by Dennis, they learn that his parents sent him to a conversion camp because of his “condition” and that he’s no longer welcome in their home nor do they care what happens to the child anymore. Jack and Michael decide to foster then adopt the boy.
