Sure, the six of them still hung out together all the time, but Mike and Will would always end up ostracized by default, unable to communicate with them now that they only spoke the language of love and nothing else. And that summer, at the cottage, it definitely wouldn't be any different.

The party goes over to Lucas's family cottage for the summer; Mike and Will get bothered by how often they're excluded from all the couples stuff their friends do, which leads them to start pretending to be dating in the most insufferable way they can come up with. Summary
Henry whines into Ray's mouth, "You taste like beer."
"You shouldn't know what that tastes like," Ray pants during the brief period he gets to breathe.
"And you shouldn't know what I taste like," Henry quips back. It leaves a sour taste in his mouth, but the minty, chapstick-ey, and inherently sweet taste of Henry overpowers it.

Six scrutinized your face, trying to tell if you were lying. He was usually pretty good at recognizing when someone was full of shit, but he was having a hard time reading you. He stiffened when you put a hand on his knee. You pushed on it gently and he slowly opened his legs for you; you stepped between them. You continued staring each other down and Six grew more uncertain by the second. You raised your empty hand and he braced for the slap. It never came. Instead, you carded your fingers through his hair.
He stared at you. You did it again, an amused smile lifting the corner of your mouth. “Something wrong, Sierra?” you asked lightly.
