“I see,” Oda says. “Then you can stay with me until you pass on.”
Surprise flickers across Dazai’s face, and he seems at a loss for words. His gaze drops down to his lap, lingering there hesitantly, before drifting back to Oda. Seeing no contempt there, his expression eventually softens into a tentative smile.
“I’d like that. Thank you.”
In the months following the collapse of the Port Mafia, Oda comes to learn more about the person named Dazai Osamu.

Ouch that hurt but its so sweet, Im just in love with how Odasaku learns about Dazai and starts caring for him despite it being so heartbreaking. Not to mention Odasaku fulfilling Dazai’s only regret of reading that dang novel.
In cannon beast Dazai and cannon Odasaku parallel each other with how they both died and saved the other party. 😭
I love this fic so much.

Summary
“You’d better not go,” Dazai says, and like the little imp that he is, he gives Ango’s shoulder another jab with his horn. “Without you around, who am I supposed to torment?”
Ango lets out a huff, though there’s no venom behind it. “I have half a mind to exorcise you.”
“Good luck with that!” Dazai pulls back to reveal a mischievous grin. “I was actually deemed Most Difficult to Exorcise by the people of Yokohama. Of course, most of them were hacks with only a tiny bit of supernatural awareness. A genius on your level of sleep deprivation hasn’t been seen in the last three hundred years. You might just stand a ghost of a chance!”
Ango has both a guardian angel and a demon of temptation. It is his infinite misfortune that they get along with each other so well and are now conspiring to make him go to sleep.
(In which Dazai tries to avoid work at every turn, Oda is an enabler, and Ango just wants random supernatural beings to stop invading his personal space.)

This is amazing and hilarious. I adore the dynamic you have with tgat disaster trio!!!
Its so funny to me that thus arc could have gone wuth SO much less trouble if Dazai didn’t get bored. He needs like a neon shirt warning ppl to keep him entertained or he WILL make things go boom. (Ango, specifically)
I love Kunikida finding Ango’s weird stockholm syndrome with the demon and angel on his shoulder horrifying.
Btw is no one going to tell Chuuya about Verlaine. Verlaine’s disappearance seems to be the culprit for a lot of chuuya’s issues. (He’s mentioned every time somrone wants to ragebait him). Im sure he’d appreciate a heads up. Tho this IS dazai we’re talking about.
I had so much fun reading this, and can’t wait for the next chp.
