"It's your birthday," Diluc says, as if it's that simple. As if he cares.
"And since when does that matter to you?" Kaeya snaps, pushing past him to unlock his door. Diluc moves out of the way.
"I deserve that."
Kaeya doesn't deign to respond to such an asinine statement. He pushes open the door and makes to close it on him, but Diluc wedges his boot in the way before he can manage it.
"Can I come in?"
"You really have some nerve, Diluc Ragnvindr."
kaeya hates his birthday and wishes diluc would leave him alone. diluc does not do that.

Summary
On the heels of an argument, Diluc goes tromping through Mondstadt ruins in search of Fatui and stumbles across a volatile ley line.
It's not that he hates Kaeya - he doesn't, at least he tells himself so. He just hates every time Kaeya tries to be what they were before.
Then the ley line explodes, and he finds himself in his seventeen-year-old body, dealing with five years of stress and surrounded by people who don't understand why the boy who doted on Kaeya at every turn suddenly hates him. And when he finally loses it, he's sent away from the estate - on his own, ashamed, shut out - just like Kaeya was, and everything Diluc has thought about Kaeya for the past five years is suddenly cast in a new light.

Summary
His knees hurt from sitting on the tile; his head hurts from the nonstop pounding; his entire body is sweating profusely while also feeling as though it’s about to freeze to death. He sheds his dress shirt and tie before stumbling through the doorway to the bed and collapsing, curling up into a ball. The uncomfortable feeling of his sheets touching skin is reviling, but overpowered by the sheer fatigue dragging his soul down.
Akechi falls asleep to the sound of his own heavy breathing. The messy, quiet apartment might as well be housing a corpse instead of a human being.
Or, Ren nursing Akechi back to health.

Summary
Akira is tired, he’d much rather walk his bruised body up the creaky cafe stairs and lay uncomfortably on his sorry excuse of a bed until he passes out than experiencing whatever berating Akechi is about to give him.
Akira, stubbornly, foolishly, tells no one he's feeling under the weather. He pays the price, leaving him at the mercy of his own complexes. It doesn't help that Akechi has some choice words for him.

Summary
It’s cold, though Shinjiro’s toeing that line between completely chilled and fever-hot, which while altogether unpleasant he’s going to assume is on account of his illness. His ears are ringing, but Shinjiro can hear something else trying to cut through the static; he strains a bit to listen, then starts as the words register, his head thrashing back far enough that he’s able to meet the worried pair of brown eyes floating nebulously overhead.
Aki’s brown eyes. Because Aki is there, and crouching over him. That dumb bandage is still on his face, and he looks all freaked, one hand braced on his folded knees while the other waves in front of Shinjiro’s eyes. Shinjiro wants to gripe, Has that ever actually worked for you? but the words clog in his throat, threaten to push another cough out alongside them, so he swallows instead and wets his lips. The roof of his mouth is very dry. Shinjiro can’t remember if he’s had any water today. He probably shouldn’t tell Aki that.
Which. Shinjiro scours his memory, but he really can’t remember why Aki would be here.
