Summary
There was something deeply wrong about the way Ilya was falling, but there also wasn’t anything he could do about it. He was a helpless victim to the laws of physics. Gravity was a cruel mistress, and so were force, mass, and acceleration.
OR
Ilya breaks his leg REAL BAD during a game.

Summary
"Ilya," David grasps his shoulders firmly. "Stop. Look at me."
It's another second until he does, red-rimmed and glassy eyes blinking open, searching David's face carefully, fearfully. It hits David like a gut-punch then, how young Ilya looks in this moment, how small despite his towering, broad frame. How his hands tremble and clench at his sides like a child awaiting punishment. David can only hope that the heartbreak doesn't show on his face.
Or
Shane had called just after midnight. He hadn’t heard from Ilya in two days before suddenly getting a call that, though he won’t explain what it was, terrifies him enough to have him beg David to go check on Ilya at one in the morning.
“I don’t know, dad. I think something is really wrong. Please just go check.”
David doesn’t know what the call contained, or what Shane thinks David will find, but either way he’s here on the gravel driveway in front of the massive, barren house half an hour later. The front door is wide open.

Summary
It's Fall of 2014 and Ilya Rozanov has cut all ties with Russia. But there's no such thing as a clean break, and leaving isn't as simple as never going back.
-
Basically a very self-indulgent fic about how hard it would be for Ilya to actually move on from the pain of the past and to go no contact with his family in a timeline where Grigori is still alive. Also, Ilya deserves to be known and loved by more people than just Shane and Sveta. Forced/Found Family here we come.

Summary
Again, Ilya feels the shame flare in his belly. He imagines his father across the counter from them, watching this unfold. Watching Ilya be babied by his fucking boyfriend over an injury. He remembered how he’d yell at his mother for babying Ilya, the word soft being thrown around a lot.
But Ilya likes being babied. He likes watching Shane fuss and frown as he portions out the pills, filling a glass with Ilya’s favorite juice to wash them down with, then bustling up and back down the stairs with Ilya’s favorite pillow and the sleep mask he keeps in his travel bag for planes and hotels.
He is soft. Weak too, probably. His father’s voice spits through his thoughts, sharp and disgusted. Ilya feels them settle on his shoulders, tug at his spine.
“You okay?” Shane asks, hair messy from the shower, Ilya’s pillow against his chest.
His father’s voice fades.
“Yes, moya lyubov. I am okay.”

Or, a shoulder injury takes Ilya out for the season ten games into his second year with the Ottawa Centaurs. With one good arm and an empty house, Ilya battles with memories of his parents and his mental health.Bookmarked by Leyal
