   Summary

   When Craig Tucker was just three years old, he suffered permanent hearing loss from an illness that nearly killed him. Now, at eighteen, Craig continues the daily struggle of being the only deaf person in his quiet mountain town. However, on an impromptu trip to the aquarium with some friends, he finds an unlikely person using sign language to communicate with him: the mermaid trapped behind the glass.
