Feanor was alone and injured. The balrogs were caging him from all side. His children were rushing to him, he could feel it, but they were still too far.
Feanor was prepared to die. And he would make sure to drag all of them with him. He would burn if he had to.
And then—
—a big ball of soil hit one of the balrog right on the head.

.
Finarfin stopped his composting of, surprisingly, very delicious and nutritious Balrog's corpses.Holy Valar.
Was that Feanor?!
Or:
Finarfin was reborn as a tree. It shouldn't have change anything but it does.

Summary
When Finarfin looked in the mirror, what he saw was Finrod.
Finrod, who was far too skinny and had short hair. The hair color was wrong too—pale gold, like Artanis'. The curl reminded him of Aegnor's when his hair hadn't grown long enough. Orodreth's eyes were there, sloping down, kind, and gentle—the type of eyes that always smile even when the mouth isn't. The color of them was Angrod's though—silvery blue of the shore under Telperion's light.
Every piece of his children made up a complete picture of a boy named Finarfin. A boy with yellow and blue spilled over his face like paint.
Or:
Finarfin was reincarnated in a modern, magical world with strangers as his family and a completely different circumstances. His 'old' family was not with him.
Or so he thought.

Finarfin studied the coin for a moment. The front side had an image of his own head on, which the rear side featured his House sign.
It should be Atar on this coin...not me, Finarfin thought.
He gripped the coin. He closed his eyes.
I wish that Atar, Amme and my brothers would return from Mandos. And all my other family too!
