Summary
Rumi touched her fingers to her ribs. She could feel the heat radiating from her skin, even through her clothes. A distant, miserable part of her said, this is going to hurt.
She pushed her fingers down.
The rib shifted.
The thing about telling one very big lie is that it requires a foundation of hundreds of smaller lies to hold it up, lies such as "I'm fine," and "nothing's broken," and "it doesn't hurt."
Rumi finds this out the hard way.

It’s autumn when she sees them again.
It’s impossible, but she does.
Her patterns know it before she does.
(They’re glowing. She’s glowing, a faint, pulsing gold).
(They haven’t glowed in almost a century).

Demons, even half, are immortal. Humans, less so.

Summary
Rumi first summons her saingeom when she's eight-years-old. Celine had shown her how to do it the past week at Rumi's insistence, but she never expected Rumi to pull it so young.
When she pulled her own weapon, it had taken a year of concentrated training, and even still, Celine was the last of them to pull her sshang nat from the Honmoon. The first time took so much energy out of her that Celine spent the rest of the day in bed, Mi-yeong and Dae glued to her side until she was better again.
But here's Rumi, eight-years-old and holding her saingeom with so much wonder. The Honmoon sparkles off of every surface and sings it's low, harmonious tune, and Rumi looks up from her blade to Celine.
Or: One of the most important things Celine ever taught Huntr/x was how to use their non-dominant hand in combat.
