Summary
Wolfgang knows that if there is one person in this baby’s life that’s going to fuck everything up, it’s going to be him.
It doesn’t matter how many late night hours Wolfgang puts into making sure that the house is babyproofed.
There is too much of an echo of his father in his hands most days. Too much violence. Too much roughness.
He has done everything he can to let go of his father’s legacy, of his family’s violent shadow that clings to the inside of his veins. Being a sensate, knowing that he is loved for who he is by so many people, has shown that he is more than just that strain of ache.
But that doesn’t mean that he would make a good father.
Good thing that he’s not going to be a father. The baby is not biologically his- condoms are a great thing, and thus the little baby will not have to carry the weight of his blood- but he can be a good uncle, he hopes.
After all, between Kala, Rajan, and him, they managed to save Kala’s life. To keep her alive.
They can’t fuck up a baby that badly, right?
(When Kala gets pregnant, this brings up both the greatest joys that Rajan, Kala, and Wolfgang have ever experienced- but also a reminder of all of Wolfgang's insecurities.)
