“I’ll be good, Hanbin, I promise.”
“Ah—” Hanbin’s ears were slowly and steadily turning red again. “Thanks, um, Zhang Hao. And it goes both ways, you know. I’ll be good for you, too.”
Zhang Hao had never heard anyone say that before. That they would give to him what he gave them. With his previous owner, who had generally been pleasant, there was always the unspoken default undergirding their dynamic: while she wasn’t a traditional owner, and she cared for him and he for her, they would never be equals.
Maybe, with Hanbin, they could be.Zhang Hao is a sumxu, a supposedly extinct Chinese cat hybrid, who’s always felt that his life—constrained and sheltered sure—was a decent one, even if he is the last of his kind to still exist. When Hanbin adopts him from the shelter where he’s been dumped, Zhang Hao dares to want for the first time in his lonely life.

Summary

Despite the horrible curse he’s been saddled with, Tobirama still holds a fairytale heart and longs for a chance to have his own happily ever after.
Somehow along the lines saving an Uchiha boy becomes part of his story.
