Their hands were one of the few differences that Sherlock could see between them. James was right, Sherlock primarily had everything set for himself. He never truly had to work for anything he wanted. The only time he ever had his hands dirtied was when he got himself imprisoned the first time. And even then, he had gotten himself in trouble simply for the adventure of it. He never needed to become a petty thief, not in the slightest, not like his prisonmates.
