Summary
In the mines, Caleb had frozen, arm outstretched towards the burning priest while Shakäste finished off the manticore.
This time however, the fight was only just getting going, and Caleb was just standing there in the open, staring blankly at where he had shot the fireball.
Caleb goes away during a fight, Bren comes back.

Caleb instinctively reaches for the energy of a Counterspell, but Nott suddenly rears back and knocks against him as she avoids a strike, and it throws him off enough that the swipe of protective magic fizzles out with less force than he intended, and then -
Everything is fuzzy and indistinct in a way that frightens him, but he can’t - it - his mind won’t focus on it. He doesn’t understand. He feels so confused.
Or: Sometimes the most interesting thing you can do to a character is see how they function without their greatest strength. Caleb gets hit with Feeblemind :)

“Hey, can we get this?” Caleb froze at the sight of Jester waving around a bound spell scroll. The sensation of a cane landing on his back and shameful pleasure filled his mind for a moment before he managed to blink it away.
“Aw, yeah! It’d be handy to have a charm spell on hand when shit hits the fan.” Beau added.
“Cayleb, can you spare any gold right now?” Jester had pleaded. The wizard choked over his words for a moment.
“I’d… Rather not support… Makers of those kinds of scrolls.” He managed.
“Really, why?” Beau, ever inquisitive.
“They’re… Made kind of… Unethically, you know?”~ O ~
In which Trent Ikkythong taught his students that charm spell scrolls require certain ritual preparation, Caleb Widogast goes a good thirty-plus years without realising he was sexually abused, and I ask myself why the hell I want to hurt my comfort characters so bad.
Serious hurt, with endgame positive ending.

Summary
Exhausted and out of spell slots, half of the Mighty Nein are trapped underground with no way out until they take a long rest or are found by the rest of their group. Caduceus uses his final healing spell on an injured Caleb, not realizing just how severely hurt he himself is from the tunnel collapse.
During this time Fjord comes to the realization that he may need to have a conversation with a certain firbolg cleric about the concept of self-worth...that is, if the rest of the party find them in time...
