Summary
The newest Hashira was an oddity and a mystery. Only a few years older than Muichiro, but seemingly so much more a child. Loud and displeasing to the ear, crying and wailing constantly, Giyuu didn’t understand how a coward such as Agatsuma Zenitsu could have ever reached a rank such as theirs, particularly without even so much as a shred of evidence regarding his skill.
It was one of the very few things he and the other Hashira distinctly agreed upon. The boy did not belong. He was unfit to be a slayer, a protector. The boy was a liability, and now, every day he would disappear, up into the mountains of the prefecture they were in, in the middle of winter with Demons supposedly about.
In search of coal of all things.

He's quiet for awhile just staring down to his hands before he takes a deep breathe. "G-gramps.." His voice is shaky now on the verge of tears, "How- ....Is this real?" Slowly he lifts his head up to look at me, unblinking as tears roll down his face.
Real? How hard did ya hit yer head, kid.. My head answers for me, nodding as he stares at me with soulless eyes, nothing like the kid from before. "..Yea, kid. Yea, this...this is real. You were supposed to be trainin then ya ran up that tree, remember?"
His head slowly turns to look over at the charred tree, nodding his head shakily. "Training...right..." Carefully he starts looking more around slowly turning his head to "Where's the...right it's...okay"

Summary
After Itadori Yuji's death at the detention center, Fushiguro Megumi has not been the same. Nightmares, panic attacks, and grief overwhelm him. As he is navigating the loss of Itadori, he shows back up alive and well. Fushiguro is not well and now he has to figure out a lot more than just grieving someone. Feelings are complicated, Fushiguro is bad at communicating his own, and Itadori is just happy to be back.
or: Fushiguro is devastated by Itadori's death and then when Itadori comes back things are complicated in such a different way.
