Suguru grimaces. “I guess. Technically.”
“Technically?” Satoru repeats. “The fuck does that mean?”
“Well, yes, yesterday was my birthday. But it isn’t a big deal -”
“Isn’t a big deal?”
Shoko chuckles as she pours a handful of coffee beans into the canister. “Oh, boy.”
“Your birthday isn’t about you, Suguru! It’s a chance for people to show you how much they appreciate you! It’s a chance for them to show you how much they care, and you - you robbed me of that, you jerk!”
Turning to Shoko, he adds, “Can you believe this?”
“Not at all,” she deadpans, grinning. “Suguru, you asshole.”
Suguru hates them both so much.
Suguru Geto has always hated his birthdays. Meeting Satoru Gojo makes them infinitely better.

Suguru watched this happen with the vague detachment of the extremely overtired. He thought absently that it was lucky he’d cleaned up the drinks or they would have impeded what had been a rather impressive hurdle.
