Summary
The Centaurs having secured their place in the 2026 cup final, earned a well-timed week off that fortunately coincided with the premiere of the documentary film spotlighting the Irina Foundation and the Game Changers Hockey Camps.
Ilya and Shane decided to take advantage of this situation and host all the coaches from the Game Changers camps and their extended families for not only the screening of the film but for a chance to celebrate the parents and parental figures that have be vital to their successes.

Summary

*This work is a remix/ heavily inspired by Wolfbird (OpalApparition), including people and locations. In my mind, a “what could have happened if they met in a different way and made different choices.” It’s sweet, has (mostly/eventual) soft landings, and features many puppies who absolutely did not ask to be a part of this, and one very dramatic chiweenie who did.

Summary
Ilya was only a few strides behind Shane on the ice.
He clocked the angle before the hit even landed; Marlow coming in too hot, too fast, shoulder high. Shane turned and slowed at the wrong moment, skates clipping, balance gone.
Impact.
The sound carried oddly through the arena, duller than boards, sharper than ice. Shane went down hard, helmet skidding, body twisting. And then it all happened at once. Skates tangled. Marlow stumbled over him as he fell, too. A skate’s blade flashed too close, too sharp.

Shane's injuries during the Boston/Montreal game are much more life-threatening than in canon. Ilya's quick thinking and bone-deep instincts are the only reason he survives.
