    It feels… challenging. Or appraising, maybe.

    You avoid her to the best of your ability. You can’t look at her without thinking of the way she and Quaritch have gotten so much closer recently. They spend most of the day together; ostensibly talking strategy, but you see the way their touches linger. Even the way they look at each other like they’re the only two people in the world, as though everything else is just background noise.

    But as the days pass, you realise something. When she’s not watching Quaritch with those bright, lamp-like eyes, she’s watching you.

The feelings turn out impossible to manage; even more so when you find a freezing stranger next to where you sleep.

    If you're someone who is into the reader-insert genre and happens to also adore Verso, this would be the first fic I'd recommend to you.

    I love what the author does with all of the characters and, though I'm not usually a personal fan of AUs, I adore this one. It feels very true to the original story while also diverging in a way that remains believable and reminiscent of the source material. I ran through this entire work in a day and was loath to put it down when I needed to actually get work done because all I wanted was to keep reading.

    Super lovely balance of initial slow burn, mystery, soft romantic scenes, suggestive scenes, smut, and story. Definitely a new fan favorite for me.

    Maaaaan, I fucking love spirk.

    I read this one back in the day when I was first figuring out what shipping even was after seeing the chemistry in the reboot movies. Finding it again was like finding literal gold. To this day, still one of my favorite spirk fics and the one I think of whenever the ship is mentioned.
