    Summary

After the events of Muskrat Farm, Hannibal takes Will home and tends to him, body and soul.

Hannibal appears on the swaying outskirts of Will’s vision like a blunted mirage—an oasis brimming with ink-black water. Will stares at him dumbly, taking in the unwashed swoop of his hair and the shadows beneath his eyes, the way he fits flawlessly into some poor bastard’s button-up and sweater. He looks soft and astoundingly docile.

    Will hates him for it.

    Bookmarker's Notes

There is not an awkward phrase in the entire fic. This is a beautiful exploration of their painful past and their reconciliation. Exquisitely written. The author shows real understanding of these characters.
    Definite reread. Definite Recommend.

    Summary

They kiss, properly, for the very first time. The towering wave of uncertainty cascades into a flood of heat as Hannibal’s tongue slips inside Will’s mouth. They kiss slow and deep, Hannibal holding Will’s face so very gently in his bone-crushing hands, and the greedy pit of Will’s soul groans in appeasement.

Why didn’t we do this earlier?

    Summary

“What are you doing?” Hannibal murmurs, as Will slides his palm shyly down his forearm. Their hands find each other easily, fingers interlocking. It’s time to climb over another wall.

    “What doesn’t come naturally.”

In which Will Graham is a bad romantic with good intentions, slowly coming to terms with his heteroflexibility.

Wow. What a beautifully written fic. It was just as I imagine their first venture to sexuality to be. Dynamic magnetic. DEFINITE reread.

    Summary

“… There is another tradition on New Year’s Eve, one I’m sure you are familiar with. It is said to bring good fortune and strengthen existing ties between two people.”

Will swallows. Now his throat is feeling dry.

“And missing out forecasts a year of loneliness.” They regard each other in a moment of shared clarity and fear. Loneliness is an intimate acquaintance of them both. Will offers no protest as Hannibal teases the champagne flute from his fingers. A soft thumb glides over his knuckles, fingertips grazing his palm.

The time: 23:50 on New Year's Eve.

The location: Will's boat, anchored just off the coast of Havana.

The question: as a percentage, if you had to make your New Year's resolution to Hannibal Lecter, how much more likely would you be to keep it?

    Bookmarker's Notes

This was a serious work of story telling. Sooo excellent. It has a sophistication about the writing that is addictive. In Canon. I felt the hesitation, tenderness, and magnetic pull present in their love story

    Summary

“I need something from you, Hannibal.” Will tilts his head, continuing: “But I’m not sure it’s something you’re capable of giving.”

Hannibal arches an eyebrow. Will’s inflection on that word is deliberate. To suggest him ‘incapable’ of anything is an insult, and Will is counting on his sense of pride to cry out in defiance. This is an insult and a challenge:

    Prove me wrong.

“Well, we won’t know unless you ask, will we?”

“I’m not asking.” Will rises from the armchair, standing over him. “What I need is for you not to talk. Not a single word, Hannibal… and don’t move, either. Not unless I say so.”

    Bookmarker's Notes

CANON. OMG. This was incredible. The pacing is just delectable. It's perfection. It's not given to us too fast, but slowly guide us with desire, hesitation, and surrender. Author's understanding of their complex relationship is clear. Very very well written. Waiting eagerly for Chapter 2.
