In the end it had fallen to Ser Quentyn to separate them, furious, though he turned on Baelor before he did Daemon, berating him, telling him that a prince did not brawl on the floor like a drunkard. Baelor had brushed himself off, still dignified even with blood pouring from his nose.
“If you touch my sister again,” he had said to Aegor, quite calmly, looking around Ser Quentyn’s restraining arm, “I will kill you.”
Maera had always loved her brother, but after that day she had worshipped him, almost shamelessly.
