So if a strange headset was what connected her parents, maybe it could connect her to them too.
This totally won’t backfire and trap her in a place where even the impossible feels normal. And her habit of treating everyone like a person will totally not change the code of those who were never meant to be one.

Only darkness, her, and Jax, with his source of yellow, red, green, pink, and thousands of other lights. An entire universe lived inside him; blooming, agonizing, alive and she couldn’t see it, couldn’t reach it.
That universe gradually closed in, the curve of his impaled body blending into the darkness of the tent, until nothing remained but heavy breathing and sleepy grunts.
Pomni cried, sobbed, and wished she had said a million things. Things like Don’t go: stay with me, I think I love you. I like you, don’t leave me.
