Summary
It started as a way to relieve stress. Azog never thought that it would cause his demise. He'd only wanted to wear Thorin's bones as a crown. Instead, he was bested by some puny hobbit, all because he couldn't leave the stupid wildflowers alone.
Or, Azog likes to daydream about killing Thorin and plucks flowers to pull off their petals. And that causes him problems.

Summary
Thorin had just ducked into the little shop to hide from some of his more intense fans. He hadn’t expected to meet the one person who wouldn’t recognize him. He hadn’t planned to go back but there was something about the owner that intrigued him.
Bilbo didn’t know who Thorin was or why his nephews showed up demanding to fix his internet. There was nothing wrong with it, and honestly, he sold books. He didn’t need anything fancy. Though he couldn’t deny that the company was nice.

Summary
"He just had to go and mess it all up. And mess up Bilbo did, if the looks the dwarves were giving him were anything to go by. Their expressions were those of complete and utter shock as they all stared at Bilbo. Thorin, especially, had turned concerningly red in the face as he stared down at the hobbit, who was cradling a pebble in his open palms as his anxiety grew.
“Um, so… you do not want this, I take it?” Bilbo asked in a small voice, barely able to keep it from cracking.
Thorin made a sound eerily similar to that of Lobelia Sackville-Baggins choking on a piece of asparagus. Then he promptly turned around and stomped off without a word.
The hobbit watched him go and tried his best to school his expression to not show any of the mortification he felt at that moment.
Well done, Bilbo, now you’ve really done it."
-Bilbo gifts Thorin a rock as a token of friendship, but gets more out of that than he could have expected.

“Dwalin,” Thorin called quietly. He was panting, and his wavy hair had curled tighter from his own sweat. “I need your help.”
Dwalin relaxed his hand on his knife. "Knot too small?" he teased. And then his smile dropped at Thorin's look. "Mahal, is it really?"

Summary
Bilbo waited until most of the Dwarves were asleep before singling out Bofur. If this was some sort of faux pas, he wanted as few Dwarves to bear witness to it as possible. He walked across the campsite with purpose, ignoring the sudden rush of nervousness.
“Bofur?” he asked in half a whisper.
The Dwarf looked up at him with a cheery expression. “What is it, Master Baggins?”
Bilbo exhaled shortly, collecting whatever courage he had left. “I uh. My hair has been…” He paused a moment. “Getting in my face of late and I certainly don’t have the tools to cut it,” he added almost as an aside to himself. “And I was just wondering if you could braid it for me.”~*~
Or: In which Thorin is an idiot, Bilbo is culturally unaware, and Bofur causes problems on purpose.
