“Yeah. Demand he admits he’s pretty.” Floyd laid his head down on the counter. “Demand he lets us be there with ‘im, especially when he’s down in the dumps.”
It had been awhile since either of them had gotten to be close and intimate with Azul. In retrospect, there had been signs something could be amiss.

“Are you jealous?” The words come out in a whisper. It is not, by any means, what Malleus meant to say or ask, but he cannot say he regrets it either, not when he sees the emotions flickering in Kingscholar’s eyes.
“… Don’t be stupid,” it says at last. Its fingers keep moving inside Malleus, in and out, slowly but surely guiding him towards another orgasm. “You can’t be jealous of what you don’t have.”
“But—” Malleus stops, and swallows. His mind is nothing more than a whirlwind of confusion, of shock and confusion and something like hope. “—You have me now, do you not?”
A beat of silence. Malleus’s heart beats so fast and loud that he cannot help but worry it will jump out of his chest. Yes. Although all the dancing and festivities are in his name, the toll it takes on the young prince is big.
