Garrett nodded immediately. “Okay.”
“I can’t—” Dean sucked in a breath that sounded too close to a sob for anyone to survive acknowledging it. “I can’t fucking be here.”
“Okay,” Garrett said again, softer now. “I’ve got you.”
Dean laughed, but it broke in the middle.
“Do you?”
Garrett’s face went still.
For one terrible second, the question hung there between them, bigger than Hunter, bigger than Logan, bigger than Allie and her stupid assignment and the blood drying on Dean’s hand.
Then Garrett put one hand on the back of Dean’s neck and squeezed.
“Yeah,” he said roughly. “I do.”My take on what happened after the S1 finale and what I think Jules wasn't telling us about Hunter and Summer but also my personal campaign to make Garrett Graham parent Dean against his will plus a bonus whump Dean chapter that exists solely because I lack self-control and an overnight third chapter because apparently your comments convinced me this fic wasn't chaotic enough without Summer, and me finally giving up and turning this into a one-shot collection.

Everyone is living at Riorson House in Aretia. Violet and Xaden are preparing for the birth of their first child (in around a month's time). As part of that, Imogen shares a Tyrrish tradition where the godparents, friends and family of the future baby each sew a design on a square, which are then put together in a blanket that is what the baby will be wrapped in their first days/weeks/months/years of life. Poor Ridoc hates sewing. Oh well! It's for Vi and Xaden's baby, and, as one of the godparents, he feels extra responsible to do his part. Despite that, he hates sewing, and everyone is going to hear about it! (Even if it is for a good cause)
