Tommy Shelby lands himself in the hospital with a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and Alfie Solomons is a physiotherapist - stuff happens.
This is my first Modern!AU for Peaky Blinders, and I am a bit nervous about it so please be kind :)
Prioritized this fic based on a poll - the people of Tumblr have spoken. Have another brain injury Tommy and caretaker Alfie fic.
(Let's be honest, hurt/comfort Tofie is simply the best, isn't it?)

This was written in response to the muddy Tommy on horseback pictures from the set of the Peaky Film. I was inspired....
I hope you'll ?!enjoy?! stressed, shellshocked, injured Tommy being taken care of by his sister... There's also a horse. Horse makes everything a bit better. Right?Also TW: blood, broken bones; he has a not so pretty injury in this.

Summary
"Your three-year-old eats more than you," Alfie says, giving Tommy a very straight look. Fucking hell, Tommy rolls his eyes internally, because he could do without this on their first morning here; this whole scenario is bizarre enough. He knows he's lost weight, and he knows Alfie's noticed, but it's been a stressful few months and he'll put it back on in his own time. The words, "fuck off," are on the tip of his tongue, but for the sake of avoiding hypocrisy he doesn't vocalise them.

“I‘m not dying…” He sluggishly pushed his hands under his body and wrestled himself into a sitting position, panting with the simple effort, leaning back against the porch railing. “Came to tell you… about... the newspaper... There’s… no tuberculoma… in me brain…”
Lizzie couldn’t process it for a moment—just blinked and…
And then her sense of exhaustion doubled. A headache threatened imminently. Hadn’t had them until she married Tommy... like they were fucking contagious. “Tommy… Tommy, sweetheart… there’s X-rays,” she reminded him, trying not to sound too condescending… he hated that.
