He starts giggling. They agreed she'd chase him and catch him and have her way with him, mounting him roughly on a stump she had cleaned and carved into a kind of pedestal, comfortable and with blankets arranged there beforehand. It was perfectly planned, scripted, discussed, it's not the first time they play. It's the first time, though, that she announces her presence with something like “a whole ass moose”, and Hannibal doesn't know why it's so funny, but it's very funny and he has to hold his stomach, his giggling evolves into guffaws. He turns around finally.

Hannibal introduced Will to his family via phone calls, but for all his overwhelm and the thunderous feeling of having Will, waking up next to her, falling asleep balls deep in her, fucking her — as per her encouragement — even when she was asleep, as long as her body chain was on, for all of that, he still wasn't sure she wouldn't leave him soon. He would go so far as to say he was afraid of it. He was afraid of coming home and finding it empty. He still worked. He suggested she didn't have to work, and she promised to suck him dry for it. She hated working, she loved tending to things, keeping them in working order. She fixed every leak, creak, thing in his — their — house. She cleaned. She shopped. She bought everything according to his instructions, she actually begged for those, encouraged him to go into every possible detail regarding the quality of tomatoes, potatoes, grains, bread, milk, cheese, anything at all. Hannibal to this day can't believe his luck.

Will drives behind Hannibal to his house. She doesn't understand him picking her up so they drive in their separate cars, but she enjoys it all the same, she likes seeing him in front of her, she likes following him, she likes thinking of him as her smart, collected, reasonable Orpheus, who would never look back, too smart for it, even if very much in love. Will doesn't think Hannibal is very much in love, not with her, can't be with her. She wears baggy jeans and weird shoes, she lives in a dilapidated old house she has little time for fixing, and he, he's stylish, elegant, lives in a lovely house… But he's older too, she thinks, he's had time to build his house, fix it and furnish it. She doesn't want more time, though. She wants more Hannibal.

“Well… my car freshly vacuumed, my dogs freshly groomed, two cans of vanilla cola, a beautiful spot, probably in the mountains, and someone I like enough to let them into my freshly vacuumed car.” She pauses, going through the details one more time. “And French fries, McDonald's, extra salt, probably cheese sauce.”
Again, everyone but Hannibal is looking at her like her very presence is unreasonable.
“I think it's a lovely set up,” Hannibal says gently.
