Summary
She didn’t know what she expected from the movie. She knew nothing about it going in, but she was still surprised.
While it wasn’t exactly scary, it still got harder and harder for her to watch before long.
The character Lestat sent a chill down her spine whenever he was onscreen. His pale skin and waves of blond hair made it hard for her to breathe. Her skin crawled from the familiarity. He always thought he knew best. He acted like he just wanted Louis to reach his full potential, but it was only ever about control. He was drunk on his own power. There was such wickedness in him. Such anger. At the drop of a hat, he was capable of unbelievable violence and cruelty. It was no wonder that Louis didn’t want to be anything like him.

Summary
She nearly jumped out of her skin when the phone rang next to her. Who the hell could have been calling her at two in the morning?
She picked it up half-expecting to hear a demon or serial killer. “Hello?”
“Nancy?”
“Mike?” He was the last person she was expecting to hear. He never would have called her out of nowhere at a time like that unless something was horribly wrong. His hushed, agitated tone wasn’t helping to ease any of her worry. “What’s wrong? Why are you calling me this late?”
“I need to talk to you about something. Mom and Dad are both asleep already.”
In his voice, she heard apprehension. Uncertainty. All she could hear was a scared kid who needed his sister. It was like talking to his middle school self again. “Uh…okay. Go ahead.”
They sat in silence for a moment as Mike worked himself up to share whatever was eating him. She didn’t want to press him, but the anticipation and dread grew with each second that passed.
“I kissed Will,” he finally said.

No one was coming to save them. Now that danger and death weren’t constantly coming for them, it was up to them to remember how to live. They were suddenly supposed to be normal teenagers who did normal teenager things. El was just learning what that meant for the first time. How much had she missed out on? What had been stolen from him, she never had in the first place.
Even if the thought freaked him out, she probably needed Will.
Maybe he needed to be her brother.
“Hey, El-”
“Jane.”
“Sorry. Jane.” He really wanted to, but he didn’t know if he’d ever get it into his head. “Have you ever gone roller skating?”

Summary
Will had set out to see what was waiting for him outside of Hawkins. He was going to college in the city. Mike knew he was happy. Free, for once.
It didn’t mean he missed him any less, though.
The basement that used to be his sanctuary wasn’t even his anymore. It had long been taken over by Holly and her friends. It was their turn to have their own little world. He knew that it was time to start discovering the real one; he just didn’t know how. He never thought he’d look back fondly on the time when eight people lived in the house, but now, it just felt empty to him.
Writing helped him make sense of everything, but right now, the typewriter sat still on his desk. He didn’t think writer’s block was even possible after everything he’d seen. The sense of stagnation drove him crazy. Nothing seemed to feel right anymore. Was it all just part of growing up? He really hoped not, because if it was-

Summary
The night’s hunt had claimed a more personal victim, however: Claudia’s dress. It was one that Madeleine had made.
Amid the action, a long diagonal tear had formed on the skirt, front and center. Madeleine had insisted on repairing it immediately before it got worse. That was how Claudia found herself tethered to a chair in the middle of the apartment as Madeleine tugged on her needle and thread. Hardly a climactic ending to their exciting night.
Madeleine’s eyes flashed citrine as she glanced up from her spot on the floor. “Chérie, you are eternal, but your clothes are not.”
