“Oh. Well, Rockett is my government issued surname. But I prefer the name Rocky. Has charm to it, yes? I also respond to Rock on occasion.”
He holds out a hand.
“It is nice to meet you!”

It had been years since Adrian last heard it, but they would never forget the opening to Rocky’s weaving.
He had been a bold little thing when they first courted. There was nothing gentle about Rocky’s song, no careful introduction or rising progression that swelled the way Adrian’s heart did. When Rocky and Adrian first began to weave, Rocky sang with an almost frustrating confidence, with sharp staccato notes that needed no following but would sound so much better with a harmony. It had been difficult, at first, for Adrian to find a way to knit their own notes into that noise, but it had been perfect. Theirs.

Rocky darted out of the way. The door shut with a decisive whirr-click.
The endless glug-thud-squelch of Ryland Grace's body seemed very loud in the small room. He made a noise that sounded like, "Huh?"
"Grace and Adrian talk now," Rocky commanded. They pointed one arm at them. "Talk until both normal."
"What?" Adrian said, baffled.
Rocky clattered several claws against the ground, a discord of pique. "You are both annoying! Always polite, polite, polite. Bland. Empty."In which Adrian and Grace haven't really been getting along, and Rocky takes matters into his own claws.
