The last time George was this surprised about anything, he was sitting frozen in Kimi’s living room as the Italian told him he was leaving F1.
Everything that happened after that has been predictable- Max becoming his new teammate, him and George falling out, crashing into each other, once, then twice, then three times in a row.
George even anticipated Toto losing his mind with rage.
He just didn’t expect him to be quite this mad.
Or. Max and George keep crashing into each other so Toto sends them on a mandatory two week holiday to Greece. It changes things.

“What’s the matter?” Max asks softly.
“I- It’s stupid,” Kimi wails, his hold on George getting stronger, like a child with a teddy.
“Whatever it is you can tell us,” Max promises gently, rubbing his back.
“It’s Ollie,” he sniffs. “I ended things with him.”
They should’ve known it had something to do with that boy.
Or. Max and George get front row seats to witness Bearnelli's nightmare break up.

“You’ll be fine,” George says, happy to hear Kimi laughing again. “You two will be just like me and Max by the time you get to my age.”
They’re at a red light so he gets to watch in real time as Kimi’s face falls. His eyebrows pull together as his eyes fill with tears and then, much to George's horror, he starts crying.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, concerned. He thought the threat of tears was over.
“I don’t want me and Ollie to end up like you two,” he cries, bringing both hands up to cover his face.
This is all Max’s fault.

Summary
Max is generally a little stubborn, but every now again he’s capable of admitting when he’s made a mistake.
Like now.
He’s in his kitchen, stirring a cup of bland tea that he won’t drink, when he realises how pointless this all is. It’s been two days since Spain but he misses George like a lost limb and he suspects George may miss him too.
There’s no need to deprive themselves of something so good just because they’ve indulged in the softer side of things a little too much. After all, everything is good in moderation.
Or: Max and George start hooking up in Qatar. When the hate-sex turns to something softer Max isn’t quite sure how to feel about it.

“Max seduced you?” Alex laughs incredulously. “Somehow I struggle to believe that.”
“Well he did. And now I think I’m kind of falling for him and I hate it. Help me.” George groans, lying back and sprawling out his limbs. It’s a little childish but he’s allowed to be dramatic about this- he’s falling in love with his rival.
“Okay, okay,” Alex soothes, probably sensing that George is about to go from playful theatrics to actual hysteria. “Well, do you think he might be developing feelings for you too?”
He thinks of staring at the outline of Max’s face as he said, ‘You could come find me. I’d look after you;’ he thinks of waking up in Max’s bed for the first time with the covers draped over his clean body; he thinks of Max’s firm, warm hand on his torso and ‘let me see you.’
And he nearly says yes.
Or. Max and George start hooking up in Qatar 2024. It's hate sex until it's not.

Clark keeps his glasses on 24/7, even during sex. Admittedly it's not the strangest thing Buck's ever seen in the bedroom, he has his Buck 1.0 days to thank for that, but it still amuses him. If he's being perfectly honest, he kind of likes it.
The glasses add to the charm.
Buck had kinda just assumed due to his insistence on never ever taking them off that Clark must struggle without them. And that's why when he wakes up in Clark's bed, two months into their relationship, to see those black glasses on the bedside table, his first thought is to bring them to him. There's soft humming coming from the kitchen and the entire apartment is filled with the scent of bacon.
Clark must be making breakfast.

“Buck?” Bobby’s voice sharpens in concern. “What’s wrong? I thought you’d be at brunch.”
“I-I can’t…” Buck tries again, forcing the words out through the tightness in his chest. “I think I’m having a panic attack. Bobby, I- can you come pick me up? Please. I- I don’t think I can drive. I…”
“I’m on my way,” Bobby says without missing a beat. “Where are you?”
Or. Buck goes for brunch with his parents and it goes horribly. Luckily he knows he can always call Bobby, even when his heart is racing and his hands are shaking too hard to drive.

Eddie is there somewhere to the side of him, trying to soothe him in ways he can't feel. He can’t feel anything other than the all consuming pain of his grief.
“I’ve got you, you’re okay,” Eddie whispers onto the crown of his head. “You’re gonna be fine.”
And he must not understand what Buck is feeling because how could this ever be fine? Bobby is dead and the last thing he ever said to Buck was an ‘I love you’ that he didn’t return. He should’ve said it back. He’ll never get the chance now.
Or,
Buck is determined to help his family through their grief no matter how deep he has to suppress his own. His facade comes crumbling down over a pot of burnt chilli but luckily his Diaz boys are there to catch him.

“I missed you,” Wonwoo says, smiling softly, still looking him right in his eyes.
Perhaps Mingyu should be alarmed by how fast his walls come down, how easily his discomfort is washed away. But how is he supposed to do anything other than smile when Wonwoo is looking at him as softly as he is now.
His eyes study every inch of his face but instead of seeing the first person to ever break his heart, Mingyu sees the first person to ever love him. The boy that carried him home when he broke his arm, that used to kiss him in the back of the cinema. The boy that took him on dates and teased him about anything and everything one could possibly be teased for. The boy that spent seventeen good years by his side.
It’s disgraceful, the power that Wonwoo still has over him. Three little words and Mingyu is ready to sweep all their bullshit under the rug.
“I missed you too.” It’s almost a whisper.
Or: Mingyu comes back to his hometown after 5 years away and tries to reconnect with old friends (and an old lover).

“I mean it, Eddie. I would’ve dropped everything and gone with you.” Buck’s hands are shaking as he tries to wipe his tears. “I don’t think you understand the hold you have over me. You’re literally the most important thing in my life and I’m- I’m nothing to you and you’ll never know how much that hurts me.”
He’s spiraling.
Later, when he’s calmed down and everything’s been said, Buck will be ashamed of the mess he’s become but for now he can’t see past his hurt. He doesn’t have the presence of mind to stop talking, to hold back the tears.
“It hurts every minute of every day and I’ve tried my best to deal with it but I just can’t anymore. It was bad enough when I thought you were straight and that you'd never ever see me like that-”
“Buck stop.”
Or: Eddie's coming out is casual. Buck's reaction is not.

Summary
According to the doctors, Choi Seungcheol was dead before he hit the ground. One moment the group had been shooting a magazine cover photo, then Seungcheol had stumbled forward, a hand clutching his chest, and that was the end of it. A cardiac arrest.
Jeonghan hadn’t been there; he was miles and miles away performing his civil service. In a way he’s kind of glad. It would’ve been awful to watch his lover die, to try and shake him awake only for his eyes to remain closed, to see his colour fade. He wouldn’t be able to live with that image in his head, with the weight of that being the final moment they ever spent together.
Or,
Seungcheol dies and Jeonghan tries to make sense of it, of how the one person he needs more than oxygen could leave him so suddenly.

Sonyoung stares at the blood on his hands, bright crimson against the pale skin.
The kitchen, warm and inviting just moments before, transforms into a hotel room. The scent of frying garlic and sesame oil is replaced by an overbearing choking cologne, the cheerful music on the radio morphs into the laughter of his attackers. He’s back in that hotel room, pinned underneath somebody he can’t even see, unable to move his body, unable to speak, unable to even cry. He hears himself making an awful high-pitched whining sound full of helplessness and despair.
Or.
Soonyoung is cooking when he accidentally cuts himself. The sight of blood triggers a nasty panic attack.

The moment Mingyu’s back slams onto the floor, all he feels is pain. Burning pain. It feels like every single bone in his body is burning, melting and burning again. He screams, raw and strangled. Mingyu screams and screams and screams, barely even aware that he’s doing it. It’s the only way he can express his pain, feeling like if he were to even attempt to twitch a finger, the pain would actually kill him.
Or.
After an accident, Mingyu deals with the loss of mobility in his legs.

He watches as Mingyu’s eyes begin to well up. Those dark brown hazel orbs speak of a pain that Wonwoo struggles to imagine. He should be waking up to exit the plane at this time instead of waking up after surgery. Even in his wildest dreams, he couldn’t have ever imagined today playing out like it has.
But they’re safe and Mingyu is alive and when Wonwoo feels the usual warmth of Mingyu’s hand in his, he knows that they can get through this.
He wipes his boyfriend’s silent tears with the pad of his thumb. “You’ll be okay.”

Everyday at 6pm Osamu would leave for his evening jog. He and Atsumu used to do it together but eventually Osamu got fed up with Atsumu whining about the cold, hunger and darkness and decided he would jog alone. The time he spent varied, depending on his stamina. However he was always home before 7pm. Then he would make dinner for him and Atsumu, mess around for a bit and then go to bed.
First it was 19:00, and then it was 19:30, and then it was 20:00 and Miya Osamu still wasn’t home.
Or: For the first time in his life Osamu sees Atsumu as a 'big brother'.
