At first, Kris feels so relieved it nearly has them slumping to their knees. Their mother is safe, if a bit drunk. Toriel doesn’t even seem to notice Kris and Susie, too busy dancing with the skeleton they’d met at the convenience store. She looks…happy. Painfully ignorant to the struggles that the two of them had gone through to save her, only for her to never have been in any danger to begin with.
