Summary
Almost 7 years after the death of King Arthur and the betrayal of Owain, Galahad is expecting to return to the capital of with a simple report, and plenty of time to prepare for their annual festival honouring their former king. Instead, he ends up bringing along an odd young knight who's cat-like mannerisms, odd habits, and distinct fighting style are a little too familiar for comfort.
Almost a year after the resolution of the Red vs Blue war, Kitty is expecting a lighthearted trip around the kingdom her lion once knew so well in order to learn from the locals and deliver a message from Graecie about the creaking before making her way back home to help with the academy. Instead, she ends up in the presence of quite literally the only people in the kingdom who she has been told to avoid. Her in-laws.

The loudspeaker crackled again as the lava closed in, and Owen flinched, clamping his hands over his ears and shutting his eyes. He didn’t want to die here, he realized. It was a bit of a shock, because dying actually sounded amazing right then, but dying while some pompous executives played Britney Spears over top of his screaming was strangely unappealing.
He kept his eyes closed as his breathing quickened, but he swore he could hear the lava creeping under the door and into the cell, cooking him alive.

Summary
The crux of it is something small, the choice to leave and save himself or stay and offer protection to those too vulnerable to protect themselves. Scott knew that the choice would change him, no matter which he decided to do, that it meant everything for who he would become.
He chose to stay, and it meant everything and nothing. He chose to hold onto the pieces of him that remembered being human, being a protector.
He didn't know that it was more than just his future hanging in the balance.

Summary
The image of Louis seeing him off as he was dragged into the depths of hell is burned into Owens mind. That alone - the knowledge that he's broken the heart of the only person hes met that was worth a damn - must have been considered enough of a torment that he got to skip the whole "tortured in the eternal inferno" thing.
Owen wakes up to find Oakhurst has been reset to the day he initially woke up from his nap. No blood has been spilled, no fires have been started - everyone is fresh on the land and completely unawares of the horrors that await them. To rub even more salt in the wound, Abolishs cure for vampirism followed him, and he was once more forced to live in his accursed human body.
Well, not that Owen cares, really. Hes done his time. Hes played this game once, and he couldn't even say he walked out satisfied. Let the humans and the vampires fight and kill each other - hes perfectly content to live out of sight and out of mind of those wretched people. He doesnt need their company, and it's not like anyone will notice or care if hes absent, besides.

Link took in the large man with his bright red clothes and shiny jewelry. He wondered if he could get some clothes that color. And what kind of rocks those were in the jewelry?
“I'm sorry, sir. This is my son, Link. I'm sure if he'd known you were here he'd be on his best behavior.”
Link knew by the tone, that was really an order. Dad always said to be polite to adults. But this didn't seem like a “please” or “thank you” situation. Link wasn't too good at remembering all those other manners. Well, being polite was like being nice, right? So Link did the nicest thing he could think of.
“Wanna see my frog?”
Or a look at what might have been if pre-calamity Link had grown up with more freedom and got to hold on to more of his gremlin energy.
