Peter stepped back another foot, then another, until his lower back hit the kitchen cabinet behind him. He braced both hands against it, then collapsed in on himself, sliding down into a seated position. His back pressed against the solid wood as he pulled his knees up to his chest.

“I don’t know what to do,” Peter admitted.

Ned looked like his heart hurt.

“Peter…” Ned tried to find an answer. “We should call Mr. Stark.”

    Peter Parker was Spider-Man.

Peter was an orphan with thirty dollars to his name and a dusty suit in a vent.

Peter pulled his phone from his back pocket and handed it over to Ned.

“You…” Tony’s eyes narrowed. “Where are you staying, then?” he asked, carefully, like he was afraid of the answer.

“May is staying in one of the post-snap womens’ shelters down the street from our old apartment,” Peter responded, watching as Tony’s shoulders relaxed incrementally at the mention of May— before tensing up again when Peter didn’t continue.

“And you?” his mentor prodded, though knowing that the non-answer in and of itself was answer enough.

“Rooftop on 53rd, when I’m lucky.”

OR: The Endgame fixit in which I:
    a) make everyone live,
    b) simultaneously traumatize Peter further by making him homeless due to his scroungy resourceful stubborn self-sacrificial self, and
    c) actually deal with the countless ramifications of bringing back half of the entire world’s population in a single instant— as seen through Peter’s eyes as he helps the city as Spider-Man.

“You're a real Debbie Downer sometimes, you know that?” Peter said, even as he popped the old cartridges out and replaced them with new ones.

“I am unfamiliar with that term, Peter,” Karen informed him kindly. His jaw dropped.

“Well now I feel old,” he declared melodramatically. “I'm fifteen, and you made me feel old.”

“Imagine how I feel whenever you open your mouth,” Tony grumbled, and Peter realized his comms were still open to the rest of the Avengers.

“Ha,” Clint crowed. “Imagine how Steve feels.”

The aforementioned man sighed. “Can you all focus, please?”

    They did not.

Karen piped up again. “In all fairness, Peter, I am only a year old.”

“Wow, a year old and speaking full grammatical sentences already,'' Peter praised. “You’re a child prodigy, K.”

OR: Peter Parker has the unfortunate habit of fidgeting with things in his hands as he thinks. This, apparently, extends to dumpster diving gadgets, Black Widow’s guns, Stark Tech, and… alien robots?

Fix it fic for Spider-Man No Way Home
    ....
Two years after that dreaded day by the Statue of Liberty, Peter Parker (or just Parker now), clocked into work expecting a normal day of mopping up vomit and reading charts- only to be blindsided by the discovery that perhaps Tony Stark wasn't as dead as the world thought he was.

    Or

Peter thought about an orange sky and the universe coalescing into one. The day the world had almost ended. The day his had. When he’d positioned a blade above Norman Osborn’s throat and prepared to murder a man in cold blood.

Peter had always thought he was a good person. But look how he’d turned out.
