Here was a small fact: being immortal didn't mean one was exempt from experiencing chronic pain.
Here was a bigger one: Verso had a pain threshold, and he had met it the night after his father had tried to kill the entire crew with a horde of flesh-hungry Nevrons with hands the size of the Eiffel tower.
(Those damned things still haunted him. The memory of them, of their gaping maws and clicking mandibles, ready to devour Maelle if Gustave hadn't shot them with an agility speaking of years of practice, was one that he didn't think would ever fade.)

Yet, a mask is all they need to hide their true self and their silent pain. The only voice of sanity is your own sibling.However, when the final straw of trust within Gustave is being tested and crumbled with a harsh reality, even the most kindness of soul can change or develop a hideous monster.
The feelings of trust and to love lost.
Or so it seems, when another kind and tragic soul enters to seek his presence.
