The rocking chair creaked with every gentle forward and back motion. You hummed a song to soothe the wrapped baby in your arms. He had the same white-silver hair and deep blue eyes as his proud father. You smiled, admiring the perfection you created together. Then, a hellish shriek cut through your humming, and you sprang up, muscles tense. Pushing the sheer white curtain aside, you saw a lean, sinewy demon charging toward the countryside house. It was a chaotic mess of limbs and snapping jaws, moving with unsettling speed. Behind it, a horde followed. Panic and horror ran through you as you tried to think how to protect your child.
