Fury feels a headache coming. Had he been a lesser man, he would have already either banged his head against the first hard surface he could reach or straight out left his position of director of SHIELD. Instead, he simply poured himself a glass of whiskey. “What are the chances he actually does that?”
“Pretty high, since he won’t risk losing full mobility in his hands.”
Oh, this headache is definitely going to be terrible, with or without that bottle of whiskey.
“And what are the chances of SHIELD surviving a bored Barton for several months?”
Coulson doesn’t respond.
Fury curses.
“But if we want to trade a bad situation with another,” Coulson adds, “I might have a proposition.”

Summary
Jaskier would have not realized anything was amiss if it was not for Roach.
See, Roach is a witcher’s horse. She knows things a regular horse or a regular human couldn’t even comprehend. Plus, she has a whole bunch of senses that humans like Jaskier could certainly use to survive longer.
So when the quiet, unflappable mare suddenly faces the other way, ears flat against her neck, searching for something impossible to see, Jaskier feels a cold shiver run along his back. When he hears coming from her a neigh so low it almost sounds like a growl, he understands he has to act now.They’re far but Geralt can already smell blood. He’s running down the hill to go back to them, thinking all the way “Damn it Jaskier, you can’t possibly stay out of trouble just once in your life, can you?”
Jaskier, in fact, cannot.
But he knows how to use trouble to his advantage.
