Summary
Jamie wasn't dumb.
He was damn well used to it. So he obviously knew the signs. The glances, the leering looks, the smirks and the obvious movements of checking someone out — in this case, him — before the inevitable approach. "What's your name, boy?" even though they already knew it, "You got anyone waiting for you?" as he'd kneel on carpet more expensive than his fucking house, in offices owned by men that probably ran the city, or even the occasional "I already paid so hurry up, will 'ya?"
He knows when someone wants something from him. He knew it when he was eleven and knows it now, too.
So if Ted Lasso thinks he's fooling anyone, he's damn fucking wrong.

Summary
“Just rest. I’ve got you now.”
Wrong, Jamie’s brain screamed. This is wrong. Danger. Get up. Move. Run.
But his body was so heavy, and his eyes were closing, and the darkness was pulling him down, and the last thing he registered before everything went black was Mason’s hand still in his hair and a voice saying something that might have been “Finally.”
Then nothing.***
When Jamie becomes the target of new teammate Mason Wright, he finds himself trapped in a nightmare of assaults and blackmail. Unable to tell anyone the truth, Jamie tries desperately to prove that it isn’t the hope that kills you.
