Summary
Sonic's pack is a trio; just him and the twins, two omegas and a... well he's not entirely sure, but that's not important. The important thing is that the three of them do just fine. The twins are tough and clever and independent, and when heat makes it hard to be those things, Sonic's the one they lean on. He's doesn't seem to understand that it's okay to let himself be cared for in turn. Knuckles, who's just as stubborn as he is, might convince him otherwise, so long as they don't kill each other first.

A rift between universes causes the two Sonics to trade places. Robotnik is delighted to exact his frustrations on a Sonic who can't fight back. Tinker faces a totally foreign Sonic with the kind of scars he can't help but feel even more responsible over. -

The lack of hesitation in his answer made Xie Lian relax a little. “Will you stay?” he asked. “Tonight? I don’t… I don’t think I can be alone with my thoughts right now.”
He’d been alone for so long. He’d thought he was used it. This time, the prospect spanned out before him like a yawning chasm, and he just couldn’t.
Mu Qing blinked at him. He opened his mouth, closed it, and then blew out a sharp sigh through his nose. “Of course. I’ll stay.”

Mu Qing can feel himself begin to hyperventilate, heart thumping out of his chest. “So you’re telling me my first heat is going to be a month long?!”
“Not exactly. Most of the time, it lasts longer than a month. And it’ll also be significantly more intense than usual, given it’s essentially centuries worth of hormones all at once.”
“Is there no other way?!” He starts fumbling for ideas. “Can I not…can I just skip this heat?”
The Medical Master shrugs. “Well, you can skip it by continuing to suppress your hormones. Then, you’ll get a qi deviation and you’ll die an excruciating death. It’s your choice.”

Mu Qing learns the hard way that his cultivation can cause him to qi deviate, and the only way to get past it is to start experiencing heats like other omegas. Too bad no one's here or willing to help him out!
